Recently, we spent time with Lacunza’s Loire fireplace, and honestly, its easy-to-use fan setup won us over. This feature, controlled by a remote, means you can manage your heating from wherever you are – no more jumping up at inopportune times like mid-movie or just before the main course to fiddle with settings.
The Loire packs two powerful fans (centrifugal turbines, to be exact) that barely make a sound. You get five different speed settings, and you can even switch them off completely when you want pure fireplace vibes. It’s like having a comfort command centre in your pocket.
During our testing, we noticed how these fans push warmth into all the right places. They’re not just regular fans – they’re designed and built differently, which means they move air more efficiently. The result? Even heating throughout your home, eliminating cold spots.
The system really shows its worth when hosting dinner parties. As more people fill the room, you simply click the remote to adjust the heat distribution. The fans work their magic, spreading warmth from the living room to the dining room without breaking a sweat.
You can choose between two sizes – the Loire 800 or 1,000 – both equipped with the same intelligent fan system. The bigger of the two heats up to 98 square metres at a minimum (about four good-sized rooms), and they’re pretty efficient with wood, too.
While regular fireplaces often steal warm air from your room, the Loire can pull in fresh air from outside for burning. That means the fans can focus on moving the heat where you want it, not feeding the fire.
Lacunza must be pretty confident about these fans – they’ve put a 10-year warranty on the whole thing. We think they’re onto something good here. It’s just a more manageable, smarter way to enjoy a wood fire at home.
